soldiers armed with carbines crossed the border and
searched a house in British Territory, which was
occupied by one of the Surtax Officials. This man
had, however, made his escane and the party returned without doing any damage. Then the matter was brought
to the notice of the Officer in charge, profuse
apologies and an undertaking that no repetition of
the incident would occur were readily forthcoming.
